Implementation references and failure routes

PulseSensor supplies a raw single-channel green-light reflectance PPG input. It does not supply SpO2, blood pressure, or medical-device validation.

Replication and contribution pathway

Current contribution path: publish a stable protocol, raw or synchronized data, code, metrics, exclusions, quality labels, and negative results, then share that public record with PulseSensor. This release does not claim a formal submission portal or maintained review queue.

What a recipe cannot establish
A recipe does not establish medical validity, patent coverage, infringement, enforceability, or commercial freedom to practice. A patent disclosure does not prove that a method works. This release contains one complete recipe, not a catalog.

Begin with papers, not the algorithm.

The bibliography connects physiology, extraction methods, quality, and failure literature. Stevens et al. 2024 adds a limited 15-adult off-the-shelf PulseSensor study.

Record a documented raw PPG input.

Use gentle, low-risk protocols; stop if uncomfortable. Follow teacher, institution, and science-fair rules before human-participant work, and do not publish identifiable health data.
